Chapütschin, Alpine summit in Bernina Range, Switzerland
Chapütschin is a mountain peak in the Bernina Range standing at 3,388 meters (11,115 feet) between Val Fex and Val Roseg in Graubünden canton. The summit provides views of the Roseg Glacier and the surrounding alpine terrain.
The mountain became an established climbing destination following the opening of the Chamanna Coaz CAS, a mountain shelter built to support mountaineers in the region. This hut, located roughly 1,640 meters east-northeast of the peak, helped open up the area to climbers.
Local mountaineering communities maintain multiple climbing routes to the summit, contributing to the Swiss Alpine Club's extensive network of mountain paths.
The summit is reached via established trails from the Chamanna Coaz CAS mountain hut, which serves as the main base for climbs year-round. Visitors should prepare for alpine conditions and changing weather at this elevation.
The peak ranks as number 53 among 2,797 summits in the Western Rhaetian Alps, with a prominence of 176 meters from its surrounding terrain.
