Three Parallel Rivers National Park

The national park contains the upper reaches of three major rivers - Yangtze, Mekong, and Salween - flowing parallel through mountain ranges and deep gorges.

The designation of this area as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003 marked the recognition of its exceptional natural formations and ecological significance.

Multiple ethnic groups, including the Nu, Lisu, Dulong, and Tibetan communities, maintain their traditional practices within the protected boundaries of this natural reserve.

Visitors can explore diverse landscapes through established hiking trails connecting different sections of the park, with accommodations available in surrounding villages.

The protected area spans altitudes from 760 to 6,740 meters, creating distinct climate zones that support over 6,000 plant species and 173 mammal species.
