Realty Gardens, Private residential complex in Mid-Levels, Hong Kong
Realty Gardens is a private residential estate at 41 Conduit Road on Hong Kong Island's Mid-Levels, built in 1971 by Wheelock. Five 20-storey towers stand on an artificial platform, each floor holding four units of 1,350 square feet, 400 flats in all. A clubhouse with a roughly 50-metre outdoor pool sits on the hillside behind, and the former mansion's garden pavilion remains.
Realty Gardens was completed in 1971 by Wheelock and Company on the site of the former mansion of Mok Kon-sang, a comprador for Jardine Matheson. The 400 flats sit on an artificial platform in five 20-storey towers, each floor holding four units of about 1,350 square feet. Wheelock's subsidiary Harrison Property Management handled security until 2024, when Savills took over.
The name Realty Gardens recalls the site's previous life: before 1971 it was the mansion of Mok Kon-sang, a comprador for Jardine Matheson, and the garden pavilion of that house still stands on the hillside above the blocks. Residents reach Central and Sai Wan by the estate's own shuttle bus and a green minibus.
Realty Gardens is a private residential estate at 41 Conduit Road, Mid-Levels, not a site open to visitors; access to the five blocks, the clubhouse and the pool is for residents. The estate runs its own shuttle bus and a green minibus route linking residents with Central and Sai Wan, so non-residents should plan around public transport on Conduit Road.
The site was formerly the mansion of Mok Kon-sang, a comprador for Jardine Matheson; a pavilion from that house's garden still stands on the hillside above the blocks. The clubhouse and its roughly 50-metre outdoor pool sit on an artificial platform behind the towers, with a barbecue area on another slope.
