39 Conduit Road, residential tower in Mid-Levels, Hong Kong
39 Conduit Road is a 46-storey residential tower at 39 Conduit Road in Mid-Levels, Hong Kong, developed by Henderson Land Development and Peterson Holdings. It contains 66 apartments with private lift lobbies, sizes from 2,123 to 5,732 sq ft, plus a 35,000 sq ft landscaped garden, a clubhouse, a banquet hall, a spa, and a 98-space multi-storey car park. French sculptor Polo' designed interior and garden sculptures.
The site previously held Rocky Mount, an 11-storey civil-servant cooperative completed in 1965 with 44 units of about 2,500 sq ft. Henderson chairman Lee Shau-kee began buying units in the 1990s, and the last three were acquired for an average of HK$12 million before the tower replaced it.
The building features artworks and interior decorations created by French artist Polo. These artistic elements reflect international influences in Hong Kong's residential design.
The location sits in the established Mid-Levels area with easy access to public transportation and local services. Note that this is a private residential building, so entry to the grounds may be limited to residents and authorized guests.
The development employed an unusual floor numbering strategy that skips certain numbers to create the impression of greater height. This practice reflects cultural beliefs about lucky and unlucky numbers in the local context.
