Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences

The museum occupies a red-brick Edwardian structure with Greek columns, displaying collections of medical instruments and exhibits about health developments in Hong Kong.

The building functioned as a bacteriological institute from 1906, established during the 1894 plague outbreak that affected the Chinese residential area of Tai Ping Shan.

The museum exhibits present the progression from traditional Chinese medicine to modern medical practices through artifacts, instruments, and educational displays.

Admission costs HK$20 for adults and HK$10 for students, seniors over 60, disabled individuals, with special family packages available for two adults and three children.

The museum contains original laboratory equipment from the early 1900s, preserving instruments used during significant epidemiological research in Hong Kong.
