Shuanglong Cave, Water-filled karst cave in Jinhua, China.

Shuanglong Cave is a water-filled karst cavern near Jinhua where visitors travel through flooded passages on flat boats due to the low clearance above the water. The cave features multiple chambers and stone formations created by water erosion over thousands of years.

The cave attracted visitors around 400 AD, and scholars from the Tang Dynasty later carved inscriptions at its entrance. These ancient markings show how long this site has been a destination worth visiting.

The site's name comes from two large stalagmites at the entrance that resemble dragon heads, called Shuanglong or Double Dragon in Chinese. Visitors notice these distinctive formations immediately upon arrival and understand the mythological meaning they carry.

Prepare for an unusual experience where you lie flat in boats to navigate tight, water-filled passages through the cave. Wear clothes you do not mind getting wet and be ready for a different kind of cave exploration.

Inside the cave sits a tall stone waterfall that drops dramatically from above, creating one of its most striking features. Stone steps from this waterfall lead to an adjacent cave system, revealing how these underground spaces connect.
