Haus der Technik

Haus der Technik is an educational center in central Essen with multiple floors and two elevated corner buildings. The main facade features tall rectangular windows that give the structure an organized and open appearance.

The building was constructed between 1922 and 1925 as Essen's stock exchange. It transitioned to technical education in 1936 and has continued that role since.

The center brings together specialists from universities, industry, and public institutions who share knowledge in technical fields. This mix of different professional backgrounds shapes how the building functions today.

The facility provides 40 conference rooms equipped for groups ranging from 10 to 570 people. This variety of room sizes makes it possible to hold different types of educational events.

The structure sits on a sloping plot, allowing its eastern corner to rise eight stories while the western section features distinctive bay windows spanning two floors. This uneven design uses the terrain creatively to produce an unusual building shape.
