Postbank Tower, Office skyscraper in South District, Essen, Germany
The Postbank Tower rises 91.59 meters into the sky with 19 floors, featuring a glass and light metal curtain wall facade near Essen central station.
Construction of the tower began in September 1963, with completion in 1967, making it the tallest building in Essen until the Essener Rathaus surpassed it in 1979.
The tower follows American high-rise architecture principles from the 1950s, drawing inspiration from New York City's Lever House completed in 1952.
Located at Kruppstraße 2, the building stands 50 meters from Essen's main train station, with coordinates at latitude 51.450556 and longitude 7.012222.
The structural design allows for 14-meter free spans on each floor, while light metal ribs on the facade provide sun protection and emphasize horizontal lines.
