Kriegsberg Tower, Observation tower in Stuttgart, Germany
The Kriegsberg Tower stands 353 meters high on Kriegsberg hill, featuring a viewing platform with a merlon-shaped parapet and an attached open hall.
The sandstone tower was constructed in 1895 under architect Carl Weigle's direction for the Stuttgart Enhancement Society to provide panoramic views of the region.
The tower's Romanesque castle-inspired design reflects the architectural preferences of late 19th century Stuttgart, incorporating local building traditions and materials.
Visitors can reach the observation platform to view Stuttgart's center, Schurwald forest, and the valleys of Rems and Neckar during specified opening times.
Between 1983 and 1995, local citizens contributed funds alongside municipal and state offices to restore the tower, demonstrating strong community involvement.
