Agiba beach

Agiba is a cliffside beach featuring a sheltered cove with turquoise waters, white sand, and tall limestone formations that extend into the sea. The inlet is bordered by steep cliffsides that create the beach's distinctive shape.

The area served as a strategic military position during World War II, with defense installations built along the surrounding cliffs. Remnants of these fortifications remain visible in the landscape today.

Local families gather here during summer evenings to enjoy traditional Egyptian meals and spend time together by the water. This custom shapes the beach's character especially around sunset.

You can reach the beach by minibus from central Mersa Matruh, then follow a descending path from the cliff top to the shore. Sturdy footwear is advisable due to the steep terrain.

The natural cove formation creates two distinct swimming areas: a secluded small bay and a longer stretch of coastline extending eastward. Each area offers visitors a different experience.
