Historical Archive of the Nobility

The Historical Archive of the Nobility is located within the Hospital de Tavera and holds extensive Spanish documentation on aristocratic families and their genealogies. The collection spans hundreds of years of records showing how noble families developed and changed over time.

The archive was established in 1993 as a section of Spain's National Historical Archive. It preserves documents that track the development of Spanish noble families from medieval times through the modern era.

The archive holds more than 700 documents written in Arabic from Toledo's medieval Mozarabic Christian community. These texts reveal a remarkable cultural overlap that existed in the city during the Middle Ages.
