Udupi Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency spans coastal areas and mountainous terrain, covering eight assembly segments: Kundapura, Udupi, Kapu, Karkala, Sringeri, Mudigere, Chikmagalur, and Tarikere. The region combines flat coastal plains with the forested slopes of the Western Ghats.
This constituency was established in 2008 through India's delimitation process. D.V. Sadananda Gowda served as its first representative before being appointed Chief Minister of Karnataka.
