Palazzo Naldini, Renaissance palace in Piazza del Duomo, Florence, Italy
Palazzo Naldini stands at the intersection of Piazza del Duomo and Via dei Servi, displaying medieval stone openings and framed windows across multiple levels. The facade preserves the characteristic design of its era with brick surfaces and traditional window styles.
The current structure was built in the 1720s by architect Pietro Paolo Giovannozzi for Ottaviano Naldini, replacing earlier houses of the Tedaldi family. The reconstruction followed the building practices of the time while incorporating features from prior centuries.
The palazzo contains 15th-century frescoes uncovered during restoration work and displays decorated rooms on its noble floors. These spaces reflect the taste and standing of the families who once inhabited them.
The palazzo is easily accessible and located in a central position with good connections to the pedestrian area around the Duomo. Visitors should note that some areas may be private rooms not open to the public.
Around 1433, the renowned sculptor Donatello and architect Michelozzo operated their workshop within this building and created significant works here. This period connects the palazzo to one of the most important phases of Florentine Renaissance art.
