Topinetti

Topinetti is a beach at Rio Marina on Elba Island roughly 180 meters long, mixing black mineral sand with white pebbles along the Mediterranean shore. The waterfront sits beneath colorful rocky cliffs rich in iron minerals that frame the coastal view.

The beach formed near the former Rio Albano mine and owes its dark mineral composition to decades of iron extraction on the island. Mining activity shaped both the landscape and the geological character of this stretch of coast.

Local people come here to look for mineral fragments in the sand, making it a place where geology and everyday activity naturally blend. The beach has become known among visitors interested in understanding the island's mineral wealth.

A small beach bar serves food and rents sunbeds and umbrellas for comfort during your visit. Free parking is available directly behind the beach, making it easy to reach.

The black sand grains contain hematite particles that glimmer in sunlight, reflecting the mineral-rich history of the region. These shiny elements make the beach visually distinctive and tell a story about Elba's geology.
