Kawagoe

The Warehouse District on Kurazukuri Street contains traditional earthen storehouses and two-story buildings that reflect the architectural style of ancient Japanese merchants.

During the Edo Period from 1603 to 1867, Kawagoe functioned as a central supply hub for Tokyo, leading to its designation as Little Edo.

The Toki no Kane bell tower maintains centuries of tradition by ringing four times each day, marking time for residents and visitors in the city center.

Located 30 minutes by train from central Tokyo, Kawagoe features multiple preserved districts connected by walkable streets with English signage throughout the area.

Kitain Temple houses the sole remaining structures from the original Edo Castle, transferred from Tokyo to Kawagoe during the early 17th century.
