Higashi-Maizuru Station is an elevated railway station in Maizuru built with an island platform serving two tracks. The station building sits beneath the platforms and handles trains on the Maizuru and Obama rail lines.
The station opened in 1904 as Shin-Maizuru Station and was renamed in 1939. The original building was replaced with the current elevated structure in 1996.
The station functions as a major hub connecting Maizuru residents to important destinations across the northern Kansai region through the Kitakinki Big X Network.
