よみうりカントリークラブ, Golf course in Nishinomiya, Japan
Yomiuri Country Club is an 18-hole golf course near Nishinomiya built into the natural landscape of the area. The layout offers views of the Tanba mountains to the north and the Rokko range to the south, with multiple tee positions to suit different player abilities.
The course opened in 1961 as the East Course, designed by renowned architect Harumi Ueda who integrated the terrain into the layout. The greens were later modernized to meet evolving standards of play and course management.
The club hosts major professional tournaments and serves as a venue where golfers test their skills in competitive events. It holds an important place in Japan's golf scene as a recognized championship course.
The course is easily reached via the Chugoku Expressway, with good access from the Nishinomiya-kita exit. Visitors will find accommodations for all skill levels, so beginners and experienced players can both play here comfortably.
A major renovation in 2008 transformed the greens from a mixed bentgrass and Korean grass system to a unified surface. This redesign gave the course a completely different feel and updated its playing characteristics for modern standards.
