一心寺, Buddhist temple in Tsukano district, Ōita, Japan

Isshinji Temple stands within a 66,000 square meter property featuring 1,000 double-layered cherry trees in the Tsukano valley.

The temple, established in 1963, connects to baseball through its first chief priest, who was the grandfather of Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks player Kenta Imamiya.

The temple, belonging to the Shingon Buddhist sect, houses the Fudo Myoo statue as its principal object of worship and maintains regular religious ceremonies.

The entrance fee costs 700 yen for adults and 200 yen for children, with access via a 30-minute walk from the Tsukanonsen-Iriguchi bus stop.

During mid-April, after the Somei Yoshino cherry trees finish blooming, the double-layered cherry blossoms create a sea of flowers in the valley.
