Sawayama Yuen
Sawayama Yuen is an amusement park in Hikone, Japan, built on the historic grounds where Sawayama Castle once stood. The park has open grassy areas, small gardens, paths for walking, and simple rides and games aimed mainly at children.
The site is closely tied to Sawayama Castle, a fortress that played a major role in the region many centuries ago. The castle no longer stands, but the remaining stone walls and ruins are still part of the landscape today.
Sawayama Yuen sits on the grounds of the former Sawayama Castle, and some of the old stone walls are still visible today. Small signs around the park explain the history of the site, so visitors can learn about the past while walking around.
