The stadium construction started in April 2022 and officially opened in 2023 as the first Type 1 athletics facility in Shiga Prefecture.
The stadium serves as a central venue for regional sports competitions and community events, strengthening local athletic participation.
Located within walking distance from Hikone Station, the facility offers training rooms and regular fitness programs for community members.
From the stadium seats, visitors can see both Mount Ibuki, one of Japan's 100 famous mountains, and Hikone Castle, a National Treasure.
