Space Museum

The Space Science and Technology Museum contains exhibits of rockets, satellites, and technological advancements from Japan's space exploration program across multiple floors.

The museum opened in August 1979 as an educational center within the Tanegashima Space Center, which began operations in 1969 under the National Space Development Agency.

The museum promotes scientific education through multimedia presentations, interactive displays, and guided tours that explain Japan's contributions to space exploration and technology.

Located 50 minutes from Tanegashima Airport, the museum offers free admission and requires advance reservations for guided tours of the launch facilities.

Visitors can observe rocket launches from a designated viewing area when the Tanegashima Space Center conducts its space operations.
