Okami Park

Okami Park is a coastal park along the Sea of Japan featuring walking paths, stone lanterns, and observation points with ocean views. The park offers different areas designed for strolling and relaxing while enjoying the natural waterfront setting.

The area was originally an island called Ichikishima, transforming into mainland over centuries through natural sediment accumulation from a nearby river. This geological shift shaped the landscape and created the current topography visitors see today.

The park serves as a gathering place for local celebrations, particularly during spring cherry blossom season and traditional community events throughout the year. Visitors notice how the space brings people together for seasonal festivities and everyday leisure.

The park is accessible via a 15-minute walk from Kasumi Station, and parking spaces are available for those arriving by car. Access is straightforward regardless of how you choose to reach the location.

Within the park grounds stands a cafe housed in a restored old private house, serving traditional refreshments while offering direct views of Shiroishi Island. This establishment connects historical architecture with local hospitality in a distinctive setting.
