The Niigata City Higashi General Sports Center contains a main arena of 1,826 square meters and a secondary arena of 816 square meters.
The sports center opened its doors in 1998 under the management of the Niigata City Development Authority to strengthen local athletic infrastructure.
From 2005 to 2016, the center served as the primary venue for the Niigata Albirex BB professional basketball team in Japan's B.League.
The facility includes specialized training areas, a climbing room, and seating for 3,120 spectators across its multiple athletic spaces.
