The land originally functioned as a salt production site until a fire in 1947 destroyed the salt-making structures. This disaster led to the site's conversion into a public park.

The park hosted major concerts by Japanese artists throughout the 1990s, making it a memorable venue for live music in the region. These performances left a lasting mark on how locals connect with the space.
