神宮寺

Jinguji is a Buddhist temple with a wooden main gate guarded by demon statues and a collection of Buddhist figures positioned throughout its grounds. The temple sits on a compact property that incorporates traditional structures and multiple prayer spaces.

The temple emerged when Buddhist architecture and practices were spreading through Japan, incorporating building methods and styles that arrived from China. These foundational construction techniques established a model for other religious structures in the area.
