Umpō-ji

Umpō-ji temple stands at the base of mountains, featuring traditional Japanese architecture with curved roofs and wooden structures throughout its grounds.

Established during the 10th century, Umpō-ji temple became a center of Buddhist learning and meditation practices for monks across the Koshu region.

Umpō-ji temple opens daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with meditation sessions available upon advance reservation through the temple office.

The temple grounds contain stone markers dating back centuries, each inscribed with Buddhist teachings and historical records of the region.
