Nihondaira Ropeway, Aerial tramway in Shizuoka, Japan

The Nihondaira Ropeway spans 1.1 kilometers across three cables, connecting the Nihondaira Plateau with Kunozan Toshogu Shrine through a five-minute journey.

Established in 1957 as a transportation system, the ropeway has served millions of visitors while providing access to significant historical locations for over six decades.

The ropeway stations display traditional Tokugawa family crests and connect travelers to ceremonial spaces that represent Japanese architectural and religious heritage.

Each cabin accommodates 55 passengers and operates at 3.6 meters per second, with round-trip tickets costing 1100 yen for adults and 550 yen for children.

The ropeway offers views of Mount Fuji, Suruga Bay, and Shizuoka City while ascending 120 meters through the changing seasonal landscapes of Nihondaira Hill.
