IAI Stadium Nihondaira is a soccer stadium south of central Shimizu with four main seating sections that accommodate about 20,000 spectators. The facility has a modern layout designed for comfortable viewing of sporting events.
The stadium opened in 1991 with a capacity of 13,000 seats. It was expanded in 1994 and again in 2003 to reach its current capacity of around 20,000 seats.
The stadium serves as home ground for Shimizu S-Pulse football club and regularly hosts J-League matches that draw devoted fans. Match days are significant events in the sporting calendar of the city.
The stadium is easily reached from Shimizu Station via shuttle buses that run before and after matches. Plan to arrive early to allow time for transportation and getting settled in your seat.
