Verkehr Museum

The Verkehr Museum displays ship models, maritime artifacts, and oceanographic information across two floors dedicated to naval transportation and marine science education.

Opening its doors on May 3, 1991, the museum documents the evolution of maritime trade through Shimizu Port, featuring exhibits of traditional shipping methods.

The museum presents the connections between local communities and maritime activities through displays of tea trade, canning production, and dock working equipment.

Located at 2-8-11 Minatocho with admission fees ranging from 200 to 400 yen, the museum operates from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM and closes on Mondays.

Visitors can board actual research vessels in the outdoor exhibition area while exploring detailed representations of seafloor topography inside the main building.
