Shinjuku Tōhō Building

The Shinjuku Tōhō Building is a modern 30-story skyscraper rising about 130 meters in the busy Kabukichō district. It contains retail spaces, dining venues, and entertainment facilities, including a hotel with a viewing terrace.

The building was completed by Takenaka Corporation in March 2015, marking a new phase in Kabukichō's redevelopment. Its construction was part of Tokyo's broader effort to modernize the Shinjuku district during that decade.

The building sits within Shinjuku, where neon signs and modern high-rises create a vibrant urban core that defines contemporary Tokyo for visitors and locals alike.

The building is easy to access, located directly on Kabukichō's main street and within walking distance of several metro stations. The various restaurants and shops inside are clearly marked and simple to navigate, with frequent elevators connecting all levels efficiently.

A giant Godzilla head sculpture sits on the hotel terrace and lights up at night, becoming an unlikely landmark for the Shinjuku area. This unexpected film reference has made it a popular photo spot that many visitors initially miss.
