大亀山森林公園

Okameyama Forest Park is located at the summit of Mount Okame and features natural walking paths that wind through the woodland. The grounds include exercise equipment and facilities for recreation spread throughout the property.

The park was established in 1995 as a recreation area for the local community and incorporated the existing Kashima Amaashi Shrine. Ancient Akagashi trees rooted in this location long before the park's creation remain as landscape features.

The Kashima Amaashi Shrine sits within the park grounds and serves as a place where visitors can observe traditional religious practices. Local people visit to pay respects and participate in seasonal ceremonies throughout the year.

Visiting on weekdays is best when the park is less crowded and walking paths are quieter. Free parking is available on the grounds, and barbecue facilities can be arranged in advance for groups.

An observation tower offers sweeping views across neighboring mountain ranges and the surrounding landscape. From its height, visitors can see the outlines of multiple peaks stretching into the distance.
