Expocity, Commercial complex in Expo '70 Commemorative Park, Japan
Expocity is a commercial complex in Suita, Japan, built on the grounds of the 1970 World Exposition near Osaka. The site includes the Mitsui LaLaport shopping center with three hundred stores and several entertainment facilities spread across one hundred seventy-two thousand square meters.
The complex opened in November 2015 on the site of the 1970 international exhibition in Osaka. Repurposing the expo grounds brought retail and leisure offerings to a location that previously stood for global cooperation and technological progress.
The Osaka English Village uses reconstructed American settings where visitors work through everyday conversational scenarios in English. The facility relies on room design and props to create the feeling of being abroad while participants move through simulated daily situations.
Stores open weekdays at ten in the morning and close at eight in the evening, one hour later on weekends. Direct access from Bampaku-kinen-koen Station makes arrival straightforward without additional connections or detours.
The Nifrel Aquazoo combines two thousand animals from one hundred fifty species in a continuous space without traditional separations between aquarium, zoo, and museum. Visitors encounter marine life, land creatures, and birds within the same exhibition areas, blurring the boundaries between usual animal displays.
