Yoshiki-en

The garden contains three sections: a pond area with a tea ceremony pavilion, a moss space with a small teahouse, and a flower section for ceremonial displays.

The garden stands on former Manishu-in temple grounds, which belonged to Kofuku-ji until the property changed hands during the Meiji restoration of 1868.

Japanese gardening techniques manifest through the calculated placement of water features, stones, plants, and seasonal elements that change throughout the year.

Yoshiki-en opens daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with last entry at 4:30 PM, and grants free admission to international visitors who present their passports.

A small creek flows along the garden perimeter, influencing its name and contributing to the water features that define its landscape design.
