Rinshoji

Rinshoji is a Buddhist temple set on spacious grounds with traditional wooden buildings, meditation halls, and a garden designed by Mirei Shigemori. The site displays classic Japanese architecture with carefully arranged outdoor spaces that invite exploration.

The temple was founded about 500 years ago during the Muromachi period. After a fire in 1906, the main building was rebuilt in 1915, reflecting the site's ability to endure and adapt through time.

Visitors can join regular meditation sessions and speak with monks about Buddhist practices and spiritual life at this place. The daily use of the temple by the local community shows how Buddhist traditions remain alive in everyday life here.

Visitors can explore the grounds free of charge with guided tours available upon request for individual groups. Parking is available on site for those arriving by car.

The grounds feature the Daiji no Tō, a dedicated space for burial services that sets it apart from typical temple features. Two Buddha's Foot Stones from different historical periods are also part of this location's collection.
