丸子神社 浅間神社, Shinto shrine in Japan

Maruko Sengen Shrine in Numazu is a small and peaceful place with two main deities housed in a simple main building surrounded by trees and stone lanterns. The grounds are clean and well-maintained, creating a quiet setting where visitors can pray or reflect away from busy streets.

The shrine is recognized as an important sacred site from antiquity and appears in official lists of significant shrines. It has long served people seeking protection during major life transitions like marriage and childbirth.

The shrine honors Kanayamahiko-no-Mikoto, a god traditionally venerated by craftspeople and metalworkers for protection in their trades. Visitors also come to pray to Konohanasakuya Hime for blessings in relationships and motherhood, making it a place where personal milestones are marked with spiritual intention.

The shrine is about 15 minutes on foot from the north exit of Numazu station or a short bus ride away with a stop very close by. There is a small free parking lot for visitors, though you should use marked spaces and avoid blocking the area behind the shrine.

The shrine hosts seasonal festivals throughout the year, including a main festival on September 15 and a summer purification event in late June, along with a New Year celebration and Setsubun festival that draw large crowds. In early spring, ancient cherry trees on the grounds burst into delicate pink blossoms that attract many visitors.
