Pakyon Falls, Natural waterfall in Kaesong, North Korea
The water at Pakyon Falls drops 70 meters over stone cliffs into a collection of small pools at the base of the formation.
The waterfall gained recognition during the Goryeo Dynasty when Kaesong served as the capital city of Korea between 918 and 1392.
North Korean guides share traditional stories about the falls during organized tours, connecting visitors with local heritage through guided narratives.
The site maintains designated viewing platforms where visitors can take photographs and observe the waterfall while following state-approved tour guidelines.
Pakyon Falls belongs to a group of twelve waterfalls along the Pakyon River, each displaying different seasonal water patterns throughout the year.
