Sidi Moumen Cultural Center, Community center in Sidi Moumen district, Casablanca, Morocco.
The Sidi Moumen Cultural Center is a facility in the Sidi Moumen neighborhood with five classrooms, a library holding around 4,400 books, and approximately 30 computers available to visitors. The outdoor space includes a garden and areas dedicated to sports and recreation.
This facility opened in October 2007 as the first social institution built in the Sidi Moumen neighborhood. Its creation came as a direct response to meet the needs of one of Casablanca's outlying residential areas.
The center runs music classes using ouds, guitars, violins, and drums that reflect the neighborhood's artistic traditions. Local musicians and students gather here to learn and share their craft with each other.
The facility is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 9:30 PM and Sundays from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM for visitors. Easy access to classrooms, computers, and outdoor spaces makes it straightforward to navigate the various activities available.
The facility maintains a significant collection of sports equipment including around 35 hockey sticks, 24 lacrosse sticks, 20 soccer balls, and 150 basketballs for public use. This substantial inventory allows many visitors to participate in team sports activities.
