Val'Quirico, Resort town in Tetlatlahuca Municipality, Mexico.
Val'Quirico is a resort settlement in Tetlatlahuca Municipality, Mexico, built with cobblestone lanes, open squares, and buildings featuring Italian arches and Mexican balconies. The complex sits in the Tlaxcala highlands and includes shops, restaurants, accommodations, and open spaces for events and strolls.
This project began in the early 2000s as a private venture to create a European-inspired complex in central Mexico. The development aimed to draw tourists into a less visited corner of Tlaxcala by combining architecture with hospitality and dining.
The name suggests a Tuscan settlement, yet the construction merges European walls with Mexican craftsmanship from the Tlaxcala region. Visitors see artisan shops and restaurants serving local dishes, while regular events feature traditional music and regional products.
The complex opens daily from 9 AM to 11 PM, with free entry and parking available on site. Those planning a stroll should consider sun protection and comfortable shoes due to the elevation and open squares.
Only 18 people live here permanently, despite the infrastructure including hotels, shops, and restaurants. The elevation of roughly 2184 meters (about 7165 feet) brings cooler air than most Mexican coastal resorts, noticeable during walks.
