Rataje Park in Poznań

Rataje Park is a green space in Poznań organized into nine themed zones for different activities. The grounds feature cycling paths, walking routes, outdoor fitness equipment, playgrounds, and rest areas spread throughout the site.

The park opened in 2018 as a public project built on the grounds of a former railway line. Converting this old railway route into a recreational space shows how communities can repurpose abandoned transport infrastructure.

The park honors its railway heritage through a museum where old locomotives and railway equipment stand as reminders of the former Średzka County Railway line. Visitors today can see these machines and understand how transportation shaped the region's past.

The park has multiple entrances at different points, making it easy to access and giving you flexibility in how to explore. Wear comfortable shoes since the area is large and walking between zones takes time.

Three ponds in one section provide habitat for green toads and other wildlife, making the site a spot for local biodiversity. These natural water features were created to support local species that people often overlook when visiting.
