Кыновский железоделательный завод

The Kynovsky Iron Works is an industrial complex with multiple stone buildings including blast furnaces, forging shops, and administrative offices situated along the Chusovaya River. The site spans several structures that reflect different stages of metalworking and production.

Nikolai Stroganov founded the works in 1761 as a major metallurgical operation serving the region. Production ceased in 1911 when ore reserves became depleted and economic conditions changed.

The site shows how workers organized their labor in the early industrial period, with spaces for forging, smelting, and storage arranged along the river. The layout reflects the connection between production and water transport that shaped daily operations here.

The site is best visited on weekends when guided tours are available, with access arranged through the local museum housed in a former administrative building. Plan for morning or early afternoon visits to fit within tour schedules.
