The Mansion of Sergey Chaev is an Art Nouveau building on Rentgen Street with curved shapes and elaborate details across its facade. Smooth lines are combined with ornaments inspired by northern nature.
The mansion was built in 1907 according to a design by architect Vladimir Apyshkov. It came into being during a time when this style was highly popular among wealthy residents of Saint Petersburg.
The building blends design movements from Glasgow and Vienna with Russian building practices. You can see this mix in the facade details and how the rooms are arranged inside.
