Golden Hall, Reception hall in Stockholm City Hall, Sweden
The Golden Hall extends 44 meters in length with walls covered in glass and gold mosaics depicting Swedish historical scenes and Stockholm landmarks.
The hall received its current appearance between 1917 and 1923 when artist Einar Forseth created extensive mosaics following an anonymous donation of 300,000 Swedish kronor.
The grand space hosts the annual Nobel Ball following the Nobel Prize banquet, welcoming laureates, royal family members, and distinguished guests each December.
Access to the Golden Hall requires participation in guided tours, available daily from May through September in English and Swedish languages.
The northern wall presents the Queen of Lake Mälar holding Stockholm while the southern wall displays 18 million gold mosaic pieces forming cityscapes.
