Kungliga Myntet, Listed building complex in Kungsholmen, Sweden
The Kungliga Myntet complex stands at Hantverkargatan 5, featuring multiple buildings that reflect Swedish industrial architecture from the 1850s.
From 1850 to 1974, this facility operated as Sweden's sole mint, producing the nation's coins, medals, and tokens before operations moved to Eskilstuna.
The site marks the location where Samuel Owen, known as the father of Swedish mechanical engineering, established his workshop in 1809.
The buildings now house various government offices and organizations, with the Swedish Property Board managing the premises since 2008.
Two structures from the late 1700s remain on the property near Samuel Owens street, preserving elements of the original industrial complex.
