Villa Geber

Villa Geber is a red-brick residence in the Diplomatstaden neighborhood featuring tall French windows, a stone-paved inner courtyard with marble floors, and a mansard roof overlooking the water. The building blends elements from Venetian palaces with Italian country houses into one refined private home.

Architect Ragnar Östberg designed this residence between 1911 and 1913 for banker Philip Geber. During the 1920s, it housed a significant art collection including works by Titian, Rubens, and Velázquez.

The residence has housed important private art collections and remains a place where refined architectural choices reflect the lives of Stockholm's wealthy residents.

The residence sits at the intersection of Laboratoriegatan and Nobelgatan in the Diplomatstaden neighborhood near the harbor area. Since it remains a private home, viewing from outside allows you to appreciate the architectural details of the facade and entrance.

The inner courtyard contains a scaled-down version of Stockholm City Hall's Blue Hall with matching balconies and marble decorations. This hidden architectural reference showcases the owner's refined taste and local pride.
