Tryggerska villan

Tryggerska villan is a residential mansion in Stockholm's Diplomatstaden neighborhood with red brick walls and dark tiled roofs. The building features an arcade passageway leading to a small courtyard, with service areas and kitchen spaces arranged along this covered passage.

Architect Ivar Tengbom designed this residence in 1914 for Ernst Trygger, who went on to serve as Prime Minister of Sweden. The building was created during the period when this Stockholm neighborhood developed as an area for prominent families and government figures.

The Stockholm City Museum designated the building with blue marking status, recognizing its exceptional historical and architectural significance.

The northern entrance leads through an arcade past a small courtyard to reach the main entry of the house. Visitors should note that most of the interior is dedicated to library use, with spaces primarily arranged for research and study purposes.

Inside the residence sits the Stockholm Law Library, housing a collection of around 50,000 volumes of legal literature. This substantial collection transforms the mansion into an important resource for law students and legal professionals seeking access to historical and contemporary legal materials.
