Uludere Dam

Uludere Dam is a gravity dam that crosses the Ortasu River in Şırnak Province. The structure harnesses the river's water flow for power generation and irrigation across the region.

Construction started in 2008 as part of Turkey's State Hydraulic Works initiative in the borderland region. The project developed in response to growing water management and energy needs.

The dam's placement near İnceler reflects the regional approach to infrastructure development while considering local community needs and water resource distribution.

The site is remote and best reached by vehicle, as it sits in a mountainous valley far from main towns. Spring through autumn offers the easiest access when road conditions are most favorable.

The structure was built as part of a broader water development network serving the Turkish borderland. Few visitors realize how such infrastructure supports both daily water supply and irrigation needs across an entire province.
