Guishan District

Guishan district spans across 75.50 square kilometers of land and incorporates 32 distinct villages, each maintaining their own local governance structures.

The district originated from Kulunsia settlement near Mercy Buddha Temple, constructed during the Qing Dynasty, where Ketagalan tribes established their first communities.

Each of the 32 villages in Guishan maintains separate celebrations during harvest season, featuring traditional dance performances and local food preparations.

The district connects to central Taoyuan through National Highway No. 1 and provides access to Taipei Metro services via Huilong Station.

Located at 190 meters elevation, Guishan houses both the Taipei Prison facility and multiple educational institutions, including Chang Gung University.
