Yuan Ze University, Private university in Taoyuan District, Taiwan
Yuan Ze University is a private educational institution in Taoyuan District, Taiwan, with five colleges covering engineering, informatics, management, humanities, and electrical engineering. The campus spreads over several locations in Taoyuan City, linking lecture halls, research labs, and dormitories through footpaths and open squares.
A technology institute opened in 1989, supported by funds from Far Eastern Group founder Yu-Ziang Hsu. By 1997, the institution had grown into a full university with multiple colleges and a broader range of degree programs.
The institution takes its name from the founder of the Far Eastern Group, following a tradition where founders or benefactors shape the identity of educational spaces. Students from more than thirty countries walk the pathways between lecture halls, bringing different languages and study habits into classrooms and common areas.
The campus lies about twenty minutes from Taoyuan International Airport and forty minutes from central Taipei, making it easy to reach by road. Most buildings are connected by paved walkways, and signs in English and Mandarin help visitors find their way around the grounds.
The engineering and electrical communication programs received accreditation from the Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan, a recognition given only to programs that meet rigorous standards. This certification signals that the curriculum and facilities undergo regular review and align with international quality benchmarks.
