Qingshui Service Area is a rest stop on Highway 3 in Qingshui District designed for travelers to pause and refuel. The facility spans multiple levels with over 50 brands offering restaurants, cafes, shops, and observation decks overlooking the plains and nearby wetlands.
The service area was built to serve the growing number of drivers on Taiwan's highways. Its development reflects Taiwan's rapid economic growth and the increasing need for accessible rest stops along major routes.
The service area takes its name from Qingshui District. Visitors experience local culture through shops selling regional snacks, pastries, and crafts from Taichung, creating a place where travelers discover products tied to the surrounding area.
Parking is free for up to four hours with over 700 spaces available. Electric car charging stations offer fast charging options, and pets are welcome in a designated outdoor area with water and resting spots.
A distinctive feature is the Starbucks building shaped like a fiddler crab, inspired by the nearby wetlands and highly photogenic. The top level also features specialized restaurants like Taike Roast Pork Congee and Miaodong Pork Rib Noodles, showcasing local flavors with fresh ingredients.
