Garnedd Uchaf

Garnedd Uchaf rises to 926 meters within the Carneddau range, featuring steep grassy slopes and a prominent rock outcrop at its peak point.

The mountain received its alternate name, Carnedd Gwenllian, in 2009 to honor the daughter of Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, the last native Prince of Wales.

The summit forms part of the Welsh 3000s, a collection of fifteen mountains in Wales that reach heights above 3,000 feet (914 meters).

Multiple hiking routes lead to the summit from Bethesda via Cwm Caseg, requiring proper navigation tools and weather-appropriate equipment for safe ascent.

Snow accumulations on the mountain's northern face can persist until June, while temperatures at the summit average between 4 and 5 degrees Celsius.
